Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a technique that can be used in conjunction with manual therapy, exercise, and education. This technique sometimes referred to as Trigger Point Dry Needling uses thin filament needles to penetrate the skin and ease muscular pain. The needles are placed in areas of knotted or hard muscle called “Trigger Points” to help decrease tightness, increase blood flow, relieve muscle spasms, and reduce local and referred pain. Pain affects how your body moves and recent studies believe dry needling changes the way the brain and muscles talk to each other to let the system return to a more normal movement pattern. Dry needling can be used to treat the following conditions:

  • Neck/Back Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Tennis/Golfers Elbow
  • Headaches
  • Hip and Gluteal Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Achilles Tendonitis/Tendonosis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Sciatica
  • Muscular Strains/Ligament Sprains
  • Chronic Pain
