About Michael: “I had always dreamed of opening a one-of-a-kind facility dedicated to orthopedic manual physical therapy. I have worked in many different settings specializing in the treatment of sports-related injuries as well as a variety of orthopedic conditions. I’ve seen and treated patients in hospitals, private clinics and long-term care facilities. My dream turned into reality in August 2006 when I opened OMPT Specialists. I enjoy the freedom to treat my patients and take as much time as I feel I need in caring for them one-on-one.”

About John: “I was attracted to the field of physical therapy from a very young age. I wanted to pursue it not only as an art but as a science. Traditional physical therapy focuses on the treatment of symptoms. Often this means an unresponsive treatment because the real cause of the problem may be located elsewhere. This treatment of referred pain can lead to an inaccurate physical therapy evaluation and ineffective treatment.

Dr. Krauss is the coordinator of the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Graduate Certification and an Associate Professor at Oakland University School of Health Sciences. Dr. Krauss has authored/co-authored numerous books, book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on manual treatment for a variety of orthopedic conditions.

About Jill: “I became interested in physical therapy because I wanted a career where I could spend one on one time with my patients and make an impact on their daily lives. Specializing in orthopedic manual physical therapy has helped me become more efficient at developing a treatment plan unique to each individual patient in order to help patients achieve their goals.”

Jill has hands-on experience treating patients of all ages with a variety of orthopedic conditions including post-surgical, sports injuries, and degenerative changes. Jill also has additional training in STOTT Pilates, an exercise approach focusing on spinal and extremity stabilization, Titleist Performance Institute on how to evaluate and treat impairments in golfers and how to improve golf swing mechanics. She also has experience in treating TMJ disorders.

About Molly: “I have been with OMPT Specialists for over 11 years. I originally chose PT as a career path because of my  passion for being active and helping people. I am fascinated by the human body and all that it is capable of, and I love helping people get back to what they love. I was trained by the Titleist Performance Institute on how to perform golf assessments to better help prevent golf injury or treat injuries in the golf world and really enjoy working with this community of clients. I think the most rewarding part of our work is that we help clients get back to what they want to do pain free, whether it is as simple as just sitting without pain or getting back to sports.”

Prior to joining the OMPT Specialists team in the summer of 2011, Molly worked as a full-time therapist at an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Midland, MI. Molly has hands-on experience with a number of orthopedic conditions, focusing mainly on sports rehabilitation and manual physical therapy.

About Kathryn: “I spent much of my life dancing, with a background in ballet, pointe, modern, tap, and jazz. Throughout high school, being involved in both dance and pompon, I found myself needing physical therapy, which is when I first became interested in the field. My PT had a background in dance, which helped me to not only get back to, but excel in what I loved, and she inspired me to explore the career. I have always had a strong interest in anatomy and biomechanics, so I decided to pursue physical therapy, combining my love for movement with a desire to help others. I am passionate about supporting my patients through their rehabilitation journeys, drawing on my dance experience to offer a holistic, movement-based approach to recovery. About Alison: “I have always been fascinated with the anatomy of the human body and the intricacies of the various body systems and functions. Being actively involved with sports and exercise throughout my life, physical therapy was the perfect avenue to blend these passions of mine. At OMPT Specialists, my goal is to provide a direct, one-on-one, individualized treatment program aimed to optimize functional tasks and eliminate impairments. I love being able to integrate manual therapy techniques with various therapeutic exercises and activities to obtain the greatest patient outcome. About Meghan: “Physical therapy is not just a job it is my passion. I became interested in physical therapy in the fifth grade, when my mother suffered a stroke that left her unable to walk, talk or write. After many years of therapy, my mother is nearly back to her old self. Physical therapy gave me my mother back. I want to help people get their lives back. It is my mission to thoroughly evaluate each person to determine the cause of their impairments and then develop an individualized treatment plan to meet each patient’s specific goals, maximizing function and improving quality of life.”

Meghan has a diverse background with experience in orthopedics, pre and post-surgical care, pain management, athletics, neurological rehabilitation, geriatrics and pediatric care. Meghan was awarded the Manual Therapy Excellence Award from Oakland University in 2009 and has worked as a teaching and lab assistant in Oakland University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

From that moment, I knew that physical therapy was the career path I wanted to pursue.”

About Kirstie: “I knew I wanted to become a physical therapist after going through physical therapy myself due to a sports injury in high school. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I was fascinated with learning all the complexities of the human body during movement. I was particularly interested in how movement is impacted following an injury or in the presence of pathology. As a physical therapist, my passion is assisting patients one-on-one in their journey to a life free of limitations imposed by pain. About Paula: “What began as years spent in the high-school training room healing sprained ankles grew into both a deep interest in anatomy, as well as a desire to watch people rehabilitate to their strongest selves. As I reflected on my greatest passions: health care, athletics and the function of the body, I was continually drawn back to the practice of physical therapy. During my undergraduate studies, I was able to grow an interest into a future as I studied anatomy and subsequently taught gross and visceral human anatomy in the cadaver lab. From then on, I was completely captivated by the way the body functioned and the intricacies and unique variances from person to person. Through individual connection, collaboration and through functional, achievable goals, I feel so fortunate to use my training and anatomical passions as a way to guide others through individual programs to gain strength, function, and confidence.”

About K.C.: “Hi! My name is K.C. Brunell Vorce and I am proud to say that I am a physical therapist within the OMPT team here in Michigan. About Lexi: I started swimming competitively when I was 7. I quickly found a love for the sport and it led to me becoming an endurance swimmer. Since then, I have taken up cycling and running and have competed in half marathons and triathlons. With all of this physical activity, I found myself participating in physical therapy to treat and prevent injuries. This has prompted me to pursue a career in physical therapy to pay it forward to my community. During PT school, I found my other passion of treating pelvic floor patients. I have completed a 12 week clinical treating this population, taken my first certification course and look forward to continuing my education.
